Point Isabel ISD: COVID-19 Update

Dear Tarpon Family,
I am writing to inform you that Governor Abbott released an executive order closing all schools until April 3, 2020. We fully understand that these measures will better ensure the long-term health and safety of children, staff, and the larger community.
This means that our students will stay at home until further notice starting March 23, 2020. Most of our employees will be asked to work from home. The majority of our employees, including teachers and support staff at both the District and Campus levels, can perform their duties via on-line technology from the safety of their homes.
Only limited staff will report to work to complete critical functions, such as (but not limited to):

Instructional Support: In this plan, parents will keep their children at home. TEKS aligned instruction will be provided through the use of technology and instructional packets. All students will be provided continuity of instructional supports through the following:

Thank you Technology Department for maintaining instructional devices and internet access! Thank you Food Service Department for planning and preparing meals for our students! Thank you Business Office for facilitating the purchases of instructional resources and materials! Thank you Police Department for assisting our departments and campuses as we deploy our plans! Thank you Central Office for quickly responding to our district’s needs! Thank you Maintenance and Custodial Department for ensuring that all of our campuses and district offices are sanitized and safe for our employees currently working! Thank you Teachers and Staff for your flexibility and continued focus on the education of our students!
